Sam Mathew

Founder & President

Sam Mathew is the Founder and President of AKER Business Group. Before starting AKER, over the last 7 years Sam helped launch three companies, Tygrus, Anu Sushi and Jeva Packaging. Sam is an early investor in Tygrus, a sustainable chemical manufacturer and the largest investor at Anu Sushi, wholesale sushi supplier with operations in over three states.
Sam has extensive experience in operating business, working with customers and vendors and managing P&L and building successful companies. He comes with strong experience in handling supply chain of chemical commodities and managing sales across various domains.
Sam has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Much of Sam’s career has been in the automotive industry, working for leading manufactures like Borg Warner and Schaeffler Group. During his automotive industry career, Sam has played a variety of country management and regional oversight roles across ASEAN countries and India.
